I am typing on microsoft word and I need to be able to indent my paragraph after its number. However, when I inserted the number and then pressed the tab button to indent my paragraph, the ';1.'; also shifted, which is not what I wanted to happen.
Numbering and indenting on microsoft word?
You can click into the numbered paragraph (or select several if you need to) and click the ';Decrease Indent'; button in your standard toolbar.
You can also customize your bullets/numbering via the Format, Bullets and Numbering option in the menu.
Click into your numbered paragraph - select Format, Bullets and Numbering from the menu - the format being used should aleady be selected.
Click the Customize button. Make a note of the current settings in case you want to ';go back';.
Modify the settings so that the ';Aligned At'; option is set to 0'; - that will make sure the number isn't indented.
You will probably want to change the ';Tab Space After'; option to something like .5'; as well as the ';Indent At'; to .5';.
Try these settings and see if it's what you like - you can always go back and customize the format further until it's what you want.Numbering and indenting on microsoft word?
You'll notice that the numbering icon in the toolbar is pressed when you're on that line. Click it to ';unpress'; it.
