All I got was the camera, no manual with it or anything, but one of the shooting options is called Frame Numbering and you can choose from Continuous or Renew. Does anyone know what this means?Just bought a 2nd hand Fuji Finepix digital camera. What does Frame Numbering (Continuous, Renew) mean?
It didn't come with the manual? How very odd.
Continuous means when you use the next memory card, the photo number (as in, 1, 2, 3 and so on), continues onto next card.
Renew means the next card, it resets to 1 (if it's empty, that is).
I think I am guessing correctly. I use Canon and I am certain they work the same way.Just bought a 2nd hand Fuji Finepix digital camera. What does Frame Numbering (Continuous, Renew) mean?
I personally own two Fuji Finepix Cameras, and Pooky is correct.
Continuous will fundamentally show you how many times the shutter has been pressed.
Renew means every time you start with a fresh card, the first shot will be something like DSC001 and so on.
BTW the english version of the Fujifilm site will 'sell' you a new manual.

Since it's the first time you use it, reset it to Renew so it starts counting at 1 again.
Then set it to Continuous so it keeps counting up from then on.
Otherwise you will certainly end up with two or more pictures with the same file name/number, and risk saving one over the other.
