You need to insert ';Section Breaks'; to separate up the document. It is possible to have different headers/ footers for each section.





Set up the footer/ page numbers that will apply to most of the document first.





Now, insert a section break between the title page and the next page. Go to Insert %26gt; Break. You have different choices depending on whether you want a new page, or just a new section.





If you can't see the section break, go to ';View'; and choose one that show it.





Now, put more section breaks between pages where you want the footer to change.





Go into the header and the footer, and you'll see on the toolbar that there's a button saying ';Same as previous section'; (or similar). You can toggle this on or off - turning it off will prevent your changes being carried over to the next section.How to number pages in ms word without numbering the title page and the bibliography?

The title page and the rest of the document (with the exception of the Bibiography) need to be in one section. The bibliography in a second section.





In section one, click on View -%26gt; Header/Footer. Insert automatic numbering using the header/footer toolbar, then click on the page setup button on the toolbar, select the layout tab and select 'Different first page'. Click OK.





That takes care of the page numbering for the title page and most of the document.





Insert a section break before the Bibliography. Once you've done that, double click in the header of the new section (which will have the numbering from the previous section continuing on in it) and click on the 'Link to previous' button on the header/footer toolbar. This breaks the link with the previous section. You can now insert fresh numbering (or no numbering) as if it were an entirely separate document.
