In Excel, how can I get the columns to start numbering with the second row?

I am keeping track of how many books my 6-year old daughter has read. When she looked at it she thought that she has read 1 more than she actually has. When I tried to explain it to her she asked me why am I beginning the count at 2 instead of 1?

Then I wanted to know the same thing. Can this be changed and if so, how?

Thanks in advance. In Excel, how can I get the columns to start numbering with the second row?
You'll have to insert a ';new'; column at the far left hand side which will be the ACTUAL number of books (excluding the title row at the top where I'm assuming you've got the categories listed... Title, Author, etc)

Then start numbering at the cell on the far left next to the first book title... at the cell right below that, enter the formula for the cell-above+1. Then copy that formula all the way down to the bottom of the page.

Viola! ...you're now numerated properly (ignore the row's numbers because those won't print out on a hardcopy anyway)
