How do I stop auto-numbering with Open Office?

Open Office's help files talk about stopping autocorrecting punctuation, capitalization, etc., but there is nothing, as far as I can tell, about stopping auto-numbering. I'm a teacher and I'm trying to make worksheets with problems that are numbered, but it's a real hassle to have to constantly undo the auto-numbering. Can anyone tell me how to keep it from automatically outlining/numbering my text for me? This includes letters (i.e. a, b, c, d, etc.) Thanks! How do I stop auto-numbering with Open Office?

I am assuming that you are using Word, so try this:

Format (on tool menu), Auto Format, Options, deselect bullets and numbering.
