Help with page numbering on Microsoft Word?

I am trying to number the pages of an essay within the header. I need the title page to simply be labeled ';i'; and the following pages to include a subtitle and a page number. I have the subtitle and the page numbers inserted, but it included the title page in the numbering and I can't get the text off of the title page. How can I make the first page different from the rest and start the numbering after it?Help with page numbering on Microsoft Word?
Here's what I would do in a version of Word prior to Word Vista (2007). It probably has something similar:

1. Click at the end of the first page.

2. Click the Insert-%26gt;Break menu item.

3. Click the Next Page radio button.

4. Click OK.

You've split the document into two sections. Now you're going to separate their headers so they can have different formats.

1. Put the cursor in the second section.

2. Click the View-%26gt;Header and Footer menu item.

3. On the menu that pops up, click the Same as Previous button (usually fourth to the left of the Close button.).

The two sections now have separate headers. Hope that helps.Help with page numbering on Microsoft Word?
you'll need to create a new ';section';. Each section can have it's own numbers, footers/headers, etc. For help on creating sections, just go to your help screen (F1) and search for ';sections';
Undo and make the title page a different document to the rest.
