How do you undo the numbering on the document your teacher emailed to you? please help?

the microsoft document for my homework that my teacher emailed me has numbering on it--but not hand done, the formatted kind. im using microsoft works processors, and i want to undo it because its messing up the margins and randomly starting at 1 in the middle of the page. but when i go to format-bullets and numbering it doesnt say ';no numbering'; what do i do???How do you undo the numbering on the document your teacher emailed to you? please help?
Try to select the whole text and uncheck the number list at the option which is selected
