Hope that helpsHow do I put consistent page numbering into a document with both portrait and landscape pages?
When you open your footer, click the format page number button, then set the number format to 1,2,3 from the drop-down menu and click the continue from previous section option under page numbering.
Use ';Headings and Footers'; - You can set the location and the page numbering is automatic. It can even take the total number of pages and do ';Page 2 of 7'; for instance, and can suppress the page number on the first page, all of which looks quite impressive.
All the other guys and gals have covered it, unless you lose it when your orientation changes. Putting it in the Footer is the most reliable way to go as long as you aren't including section breaks.(Then its just a matter of a fiddle with the header and footer toolbar)
Set up your Footer and it should be correct for every page.
