On MS Word 2003, How do I get the page numbering to be continuous if there are section breaks?

Basically, I need to keep the section breaks in for formating the pages differently within the document, but it makes my page number restart at number 1? How do I make the page numbers continue from the last section? On MS Word 2003, How do I get the page numbering to be continuous if there are section breaks?
How are you page numbering?

If you do it by turning on page numbering from the Insert--%26gt;Page Numbers menu, you click on Format and choose Continue from previous section

If you do it in a header or footer, it's similar. Choose the Format Page number button and do as above. On MS Word 2003, How do I get the page numbering to be continuous if there are section breaks?
Before you try, if you've done a lot of editing in it, there may be damage, so start fresh like this:

Ctrl + A to select all

Hold down Shift while you tap the %26lt;-- key ONCE to deselect the last character

Edit%26gt;Copy

File New choose the right type

Edit paste.

That starts you new. Try the methods the second poster suggested again, they should work now.
`Its better to select all documents and cut and paste in the new word documents. Change or modify the page number there.
