Can you help with page numbering in a word 2002 document?

I'm doing a project using word 2002. I did 8 pages individualy then inserted each page, one after the other into the document. When I used the footer to insert numbers it put two pages numberd 3. In the project i've got text, graphs, diagrams, tables and columns. How do I get the page numbering correct? Can you help with page numbering in a word 2002 document?
Do this:

1. Click the Insert-%26gt;Page Numbers menu item.

2. Set the Position and Alignment text boxes to put the page number where you want it.

3. Click OK.

To put any other text into the header, double click in the Header on the page and enter the text. Double click outside the header, or close the Header and Footer pop-up menu to get out.

Hope that helps.

It sounds like you actually typed in the numbers yourself to start with,. i.e. 1 on page 1, 2 on page 2 etc. If so, delete completely and rely on the numbering field in the footer which is the # mark symbol.
Use A Newer Version Of Office It Is Much Better For Projects Etc.
