How do you turn off automatic numbering in msword?

I am typing a ms word document, and have a list of about five things. I want to manually type the numbers because they are not in a normal order, but it keeps automatically inserting the next number. I know there is a way to not have the numbers automatically inserted but can't remember.

Click AutoCorrect Options, and then click the AutoFormat As You Type tab. Under Apply as you type, select or clear the Automatic bulleted lists check box or the Automatic numbered lists check box.How do you turn off automatic numbering in msword?
