what is the significance of the numbers of the episodes on the numb3rs season 1 dvd -- like they appear to be in order like 101 102 but then some numbers skip and appear later... just curious if anybody has figured out a pattern or a meaning behind that

How come when I use numbering on Microsoft word, when I get to 100 it indents the text, how do I fix that?
It's because the extra number pushes the text over to the next tab. You can change it. Highlight all of your numbered text, then right click, select Bullets %26amp; Numbering, Numbered tab, Customize button.
To change the tab space of the first line after the number, click the blue dropdown arrow next to Tab Space After, then move the tab space. You'll see it move in the Preview box. If your text wraps around to a second line, you can also change that line's indent by selecting the blue dropdown arrow next to Indent At. If you play around with those two options, you can set the look to exactly what you want.
Finally, Word defaults the numbers to be left-aligned and if you like that then you are set. However, if you like your numbers right-aligned, then click the blue dropdown arrow next to Number Position and select right.

I want to make ';page numbering'; and ';sentence indent'; a default of all my word documents. How can I do it?
Most people handle those specific formatting needs by creating a template. In a blank document apply whatever default formatting you want, then select File, Save As, and from the ';Save as type'; box select Document Template. Sounds like you have Track Changes turned on. Do this to turn it off and get rid of that red bubble:
In Word versions prior to Word 2007 (Vista):
1. On the Reviewing toolbar (the one with the Final Showing Markup list box), click the one with the blue checkmark.
2. Select Accept All Changes In Document. That should clear them all out. Now to turn off future ones.
3. On that toolbar, click the second from the right, the one with the page with red lines.
In Word 2007:
1. Click the Review tab on the Ribbon.
2. In the Changes group, click the arrow under ';Accept';.
3. Click Accept All Changes In Document.
4. In the Tracking group, the Track Changes icon should be selected. Click it to unselect it.

yes I麓m from here.... Costa Rican telephone users rate grew so there were not enough numbers, so they converted the numbers from a six digit to a seven digit number.
The only thing that you have to do is put an extra 2 %26gt;(if it a house number or commercial number) BEFORE the number or an extra 8 (if its a cell phone)
So it麓s like this:
506+2+number
or
506+8+number

Keep it short - children need to be up and down. So, if you read a story, the next thing you do is stand up and sing a song or dance. Just remember that you can't expect a child to sit still for very long. To have a successful large group time, the secret revolves around routine. They should know what to expect and when to expect it.
You're going to have to decide if you want to have this on a regular basis or not. When the children know what is happening, they are more actively participating or focused on the large group.
Like most everyone else said, you have to be careful of your time. The meeting doesn't have to stop after xxx amount of minutes, but what their attention is on does have to change. So if you're thinking 15 minutes (like some suggested as the limit), their focus has to change in that time period.
I started every day with a small group and I think it was a great way to get the children focused. I started by greeting the children and asking them how they are.
I would then go into reading a story or 2, depending on how long they are. The story can either be a story or a children's book about a subject we are learning (i.e. insects).
Next, I would give a presentation on a material in the classroom. This can either be done to the whole group or it could be divided up by another teacher - I teach the older children something and they teach the younger children something.
I then let them choose work one at a time.

HELP! MS Word is so frustrating. How do I number the first 3 pages, then have no numbering on the rest?
I have it set up so that the first page number is hidden, then pages 2 and 3 are visible. I have created a new section for the following pages. The first page number is hidden, however, on the 2nd page of that section (5th page overall), the numbers start at 2! You should now be able to delete the page number without affecting the previous section's.

If you don't want any page numbers on that section, you could just copy and paste the section into a new Microsoft Word document and not insert page numbers, and keep the other part in that separate document. Actually, wait! I came up with something else!
You could just insert a small, white AutoShape without a line in from Microsoft Word (in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen,) and put it right over the page numbers for the page numbers that you don't want. They would be covered up by the autoshape. If your background colour isn't white, then just make the colour of the autoshape the same colour as the background. I know this isn't the easiest or most technical way, but it could work!
Actually, the AutoShape wouldn't cover the page number. Never mind. Sorry.

On the other hand all the numbers for a given street may have been scramble in a haphazard (dis)order and cast down upon the street only to land as they list. You know just like the Quran.
The standard township system in the US divides into plats, and lots. Each lot is a number, so if a house and yard a large enough, and have 2 or 3 lots, the numbers will skip. Also, usually evens and odds are on opposite sides of the street, so you're skipping even more numbers because you are counting by 2's for each lot.
In addition, most neighborhoods have blocks divided by 100's (first block is 100, next is 200) so the first house on the corner will start with that base number. Even if the last house on the 100 block is 110, the house on the second block will still be 200.

Open Office's help files talk about stopping autocorrecting punctuation, capitalization, etc., but there is nothing, as far as I can tell, about stopping auto-numbering. I'm a teacher and I'm trying to make worksheets with problems that are numbered, but it's a real hassle to have to constantly undo the auto-numbering. How do I use more than one page numbering style in MS Word?
I need the first (title) page unumbered, (the first two pages need to be unnumbered really, but since the second is supposed to be blank I can just slip that in later). The preface, acknowledgements, and table of contents need to be numbered with lower case Roman Numerals, and then the body needs standard numbers. I have Word, 2003 but do have acces to 2007 at work.
This is an annoying thesis requirement. The quick and easy solution would be to create seperate documents, but I am curious to know if there is a way to do this in a single doc.

To first insert page numbers, go to ';Insert'; then select ';Page Numbers'; - I'm not sure where you want the page numbers to show up (left/middle/right bottom of the page) - you decide - then uncheck the box that says ';show number on the first page.'; Next click ';format'; and that will take you to your number options (roman numerals, standard numbers, etc.). Then towards the bottom of the box it says ';start at'; - select the page number where the numbering is supposed to start. If your title page is not included in the pagnation (e.g. you want the first page of text to be page 1), select the number to start at 0 (because then ';page 0'; will not show up on your title page and ';page 1'; will be on your first page of text. If, on the other hand, the title page is included in the pagination, select the number to start at 1 and then your first page of text will be numbered as 2. Sorry if this is wordy/confusing.
Click ';OK'; to get out of those boxes - then go to the place in your thesis where you need to change the numbering and go to the ';insert'; menu again - but this time select ';break'; - select ';page break'; as your type of break and ';next page'; for section break types. Then click ';OK'; - repeat the above procedure for inserting numbers, but this time when you go to ';format,'; select roman numerals rather than standard numbers. You can go back and forth between roman numerals and standard numbers - you just need to set page breaks for every change.

My problem is that when i command the program to number pages it starts from the cover and contents page which isn't supposed to show.

You make the un-numbered pages a distinct section, then put headers and/or footers on the section after it, this way: (Note: This entry is long because it contains two sets of instructions: One for Word 2007 and one for previous versions.)
In Word versions earlier than Word 2007 (Vista):
1. At the top of the first page you want numbered, click the Insert-%26gt;Break menu item.
2. Insert a Next Page type section break.
3. Move the cursor down a few lines so it's in the new section you just created.
4. Click on the View-%26gt;Headers and Footers menu item. You should now see and be able to edit the section's header.
5. One of the icons on the Headers toolbar that pops up, probably the fifth from the right, will say ';Same as Previous'; when you hover the cursor over it. Click it to disconnect the header from the previous one.

you are going to either have to do two things
allow for the first two pages to be blank and throw them away when you print and start off at page 3
or you are going to have to manually put in your page numbers.
here is how you do that
pull up your document go to the top and select insert%26gt;pagenumbers
then select where you want your page numbers to be.
you will then see your regular 1,2,3 page numbers on your pages.
take your mouse and put it over the number and double click- your ';header/footer'; will be selected.. KEEP your mouse over that number and double click AGAIN and you will have selected the actual number. highlight the number and put in the number you desire
do this again and again for the other pages putting in the numbers you want

You make the un-numbered pages a distinct section, then put headers and/or footers on the section after it, this way: (Note: This entry is long because it contains two sets of instructions: One for Word 2007 and one for previous versions.)
In Word versions earlier than Word 2007 (Vista):
1. At the top of the first page you want numbered, click the Insert-%26gt;Break menu item.
2. Insert a Next Page type section break.
3. Move the cursor down a few lines so it's in the new section you just created.
4. Click on the View-%26gt;Headers and Footers menu item. You should now see and be able to edit the section's header.
5. One of the icons on the Headers toolbar that pops up, probably the fifth from the right, will say ';Same as Previous'; when you hover the cursor over it. Click it to disconnect the header from the previous one.

If you use a type of stack data structure where 0 would represent the element you are deleting and 1 as the element in which calculations are done then it would be possible. However I seriously doubt you could just start numbering arrays starting with 1 as the first index instead of 0 in any other case, because while you may not use the data in 0, unless you initaize that index there will always be something there, whatever was stored inside the memory address previously.

Originally steam locos were going to be Sxxxx but this was dropped.
During the 1970's British Rail intoduced a computerised data base to keep track of all it's rail assets.
T.O.P.S Total Operating Prossesing Sytstem.
This meant all Locomotives and rolling stock (coaches and waggons) were re-numbered.
Type 1 locos became 0-19
Type 2 ..20-29 etc
i.e a more powerful loco gets a higher number
With the introduction of class 60(would've been therefore a Type 6 loco) and class 66 there are powerbands available for locomotive to be introduced inbetween them.
(Proposed but not built).
T.O.P.S can be used for the re-introduction of powerband classes with have been withdrawn in the past...i.e class 13 or 28,but preserved locomotives acually reintroduced to the mainlines are classified 97XXX...Ex LNER loco ';flying scotsman'; would be 97472 as the only the last 3 digits of it's original number are used.
It was due to TOPS being unable to handle duplicate numbers. When the class 60s were built, the one remaining Hastings DEMU had to have its end cars renumbered in order to allow the class 60s to occupy 60001 to 60100.
Now that we have numerous private operators, it doesn't matter so much as it's only duplication within an operator or leasing company that would cause problems.
So there are now 2 57301s running about for example, One of them is a class 57 locomotive, the other is a class 153 DMU.
At a guess, it's because vehicle numbers in the 61xxx to 65xxx ranges were already in use for EMUs, and TOPS/GEMINI/GENIUS would get horribly confused if you had duplicate numbers.

Odd numbers are spurs away from the intestate system. Even numbers are loops or bypasses that eventually reconnect with the interstate system.
Typically, they try not to repeat the same number in different places in the state, and they start with the lowest number, hence there are lots of 3-digit interstates that start with 1,2,3... but not many starting with 7,8,9. This is also why you might see a interstate change designation to a state highway when crossing state lines, because that number is already in use in another part of the state. Where a 3-digit interstate number does show up in multiple segments in the same state, it usually means they were meant to be continuous, and the middle part simply hasn't been built yet.

Not sure about your specific keyboard, but it's probably a combination of hitting that key (5), along with a key that's probably at the bottom of your keyboard, usually along the same row as the space bar. The way to change format of numbering or bullets is right button of mouse down to, in your case, numbers and choose the format from the window or click on the customise button. With 2007 it is the same, right button, choose another numbering format from the gallery of options or Define new number format.
