What is the NUMBERING (not firing) sequence of a Ford 4.6L engine?

Looking at the engine from the Front of the car, where is the #1 cylinder, and what is the numbering progression for this engine?What is the NUMBERING (not firing) sequence of a Ford 4.6L engine?

Left side from you to the rear is 1,2,3,4. Right side from you to the rear is 5,6,7,8.What is the NUMBERING (not firing) sequence of a Ford 4.6L engine?
left front to back, 1234


right front to back, 5678





This is looking at the front of the engine where the radiator fan is with the hood open.

The OEM plug wires on earlier 4.6L engines failed and corrosion built up on the wire connectors as well as inside the coil pack tower contacts. Clean the coil contacts with a wire brush or rolled up piece of emory cloth etc.
