I don't think so. I've will be getting my vows renewed on my ten year anniversary in Dec. and we are doing it on the same day we got married . But its up to you and your spouse to make that chose. But from a married person to another no I wouldn't that's to complicated. But congrats on your renewing of your vows. For people who renew their vows after infidelity, do you start over numbering your anniversaries?
No.
Your renewing your commitment. You didn't divorce or start over. You learned and forgave and moved on.
You could privately celebrate, but I think that would only continue to cast light on what happened. Better to consider it a lesson learned and not put any focus on it...
I should note that I would never forgive my husband for cheating on me. And I do not at all support the theory that they will change and it was a one time mistake.
But your situation is different. However, no you count from the day you were initially married not the renewal. It's like a lease on an apartment. You renew it every year, but if you were late paying rent you don't say you only just moved in -- do you?For people who renew their vows after infidelity, do you start over numbering your anniversaries?
That is completely up to you. If you feel that you are ';re-marrying';, then, yes, you should start your anniversaries again. Talk it over with your partner and get his/her opinions on the subject. There is nothing set in stone. Marriage is a completely person journey. I congradulate you two! My best wishes!
